Foam type, grade and density

Identify the polymer or grade, density where relevant and contact sensitivity of the product.

Cavity fit and removal

Check cavity fit and removal with the complete product, not a nominal outline alone.

Evidence for special properties

Special properties such as anti-static behaviour require specific evidence and are not inferred from the word foam.

Material requirements for the quotation

  • Identify the actual product, intended use and any existing pack or specification.

  • List quantities by version and the delivery destination. Record which choices still need a recommendation.

Standard MOQ: 500 pieces per style, size and artwork design. Special specifications and combined orders are assessed individually. Material and performance requirements are confirmed for the specific application.

Foam versus paper-based supports

Compare actual grades using the same product, contact points and outer-box layout. Define any special performance requirement separately. Ordinary foam must not be described as anti-static solely because it is used for an electronic item.

Material specification and supporting documents

Request the actual material reference and specification. Check only the processes used in the chosen pack, such as printing, gluing, folding, wrapping or forming. Discuss the relevant customization.

Approve fit and appearance on the complete construction. Review affected parts after a grade, layer, coating or attachment changes. Composition, contact and performance documents must cover the specified material or item and use conditions. Ask about documentation.

Foam contact and cavity construction

Foam options differ in chemistry, structure and mechanical behaviour. Colour and density alone are not enough to identify equivalent materials for every application.

Describe the product mass, fragile surfaces and required retention. Record the selected grade, layers and cutting method, including finger-access openings.

Sample review: cavity fit and removal

Check the complete inserted pack for movement and removal. Special electrostatic, flame or other performance claims require the relevant specification and evidence.
