Custom Oval Paper Tubes
Oval tube profiles provide a shaped alternative to round packaging. Both body and closure need matching profiles.
Standard MOQ: 500 pcs per style, size and artwork. Higher quantities may apply to special specifications. Sample timing and production timing are quoted for the project.
Specification for Oval Paper Tubes
| Specification | Project input |
|---|---|
| Internal diameter or profile | Provide the product profile and required usable opening; distinguish internal from external measurements. |
| Usable height | Measure the space available between the closing components with the contents in place. |
| Wall and lining | Identify wall construction, lining and the actual layer contacting the product. |
| End-cap construction | Confirm cap material, closing fit, opening method and any required internal support. |
| Contents and contact conditions | Describe the contents, contact layer, filling and storage conditions before choosing materials. |
| Quantity | Quantity per style, size and artwork design. Standard MOQ is 500 pieces; higher quantities may apply. |
| Artwork | PDF, AI or CDR artwork where available; JPG/PNG references and Excel specifications can support the brief. Files are reviewed for their intended use. |
| Delivery | Destination, target date and whether packaging should arrive assembled or flat, where applicable. |
Tube wall, wrap and end components
The quotation confirms the selected grade and compatible options.
| Material option | Specification and confirmation |
|---|---|
| Paper tube body | Specify the usable cavity and contents before selecting the wall construction. Body thickness affects both internal and external dimensions. |
| Printed paper wrap | Plan the design around the curved body, seam and lid overlap. Review the appearance on an assembled tube. |
| Ends and inner components | Identify the base, lid and any dispensing or supporting component. Their material and fit are confirmed as part of the complete pack. |
Long and short internal axes
Major and minor internal axes, usable height and lid fit.
- Measurement reference: Give units and label product, internal or external dimensions. Include a drawing or reference sample if available.
- Multiple sizes: List quantities by size. A size change may require a revised structure, artwork or sample.
Artwork around the shaped body
Check artwork orientation across the flatter and more curved faces.
| Print preparation | Specification and confirmation |
|---|---|
| Print areas | Mark printed faces, unprinted areas, text and codes. The material and order requirements determine the printing method. |
| Colour reference | Provide CMYK artwork or a Pantone reference where available. Approve colour on the agreed material and sample; screen previews show layout. |
| Files and versions | Send PDF, AI or CDR artwork if available; JPG/PNG references and Excel specifications or data can support the brief. Files are reviewed before production. |
Wrap appearance and finishing
Availability depends on the material, structure and intended use.
- Printed wrap and end graphics: Choose the visible print areas on the body and lid. Check orientation when the pack is closed and opened.
- Matte, gloss or textured paper: Compare a smooth printed surface with a specialty-paper appearance. Select the actual wrap before approving colour and finish.
- Foil or relief accents: Use selected logo areas for a requested decorative effect. Check alignment on the curved surface and compatibility with the wrap.
End closures, lining and packing
Define the long and short internal axes and lid alignment. The shaped body, seam and forming method need evaluation together before fixing artwork placement.
Specify the oval lid and body alignment and any shaped insert; test opening without forcing the curved walls.
- Working layout: Send a drawing, reference or actual product. Identify fixed requirements and options to compare.
- Supply and assembly: Agree whether lids are fitted, how inner components are supplied and what separation is needed to protect the curved surfaces during shipment.
- Component matching: For a multi-part pack, list component sizes, assembly order and which parts the quotation includes.
Sample checks: oval body and lid alignment
Place the actual item inside and check rotation, lid orientation and removal. Compare a round tube if the oval shape does not improve fit or presentation.
- Structural sample: Check dimensions, assembly, fit and opening or application with the actual contents where relevant.
- Printed sample: Check print areas, colour and finish. Record any differences between the sample process and bulk production.
- Production reference: Approve the sample and artwork version before production. Recheck affected parts after changes to dimensions, materials or functional components.
Sample fees, shipping and timing are quoted per project. A visual proof cannot replace physical checks.
Quotation, approval and production

Agree quantities by size and artwork, materials, printing, finishes, components, and any tooling or assembly charges.
Approve samples and files
Record the approved sample and artwork. Scheduling follows the required sample, artwork, deposit and order confirmations.
Produce and inspect
Agree inspection methods and acceptance criteria for materials, dimensions, print, appearance and relevant assembly or fit.
Pack and deliver
Production and transit times are assessed separately. Confirm the destination, transport arrangement and delivery responsibilities.
Related packaging options
Custom Paper Tube Packaging
Paper tube bodies are paired with selected end closures and, where needed, a lining. The diameter, height and closure are specified around the contents.
Custom Telescopic Paper Tubes
Overlapping tube sections form the telescopic closure. The overlap contributes to fit and changes the effective internal height.
Custom Push Up Paper Tubes
The moving base pushes the contents upward through the paper tube. The product and inner construction must work with that movement.
