Custom Spout Pouches
Spouts provide controlled access to the contents of a flexible pouch. Spout placement, cap and filling arrangements form part of the specification.
Standard MOQ: 500 pcs per style, size and artwork. Higher quantities may apply to special specifications. Sample timing and production timing are quoted for the project.
Specification for Spout Pouches
| Specification | Project input |
|---|---|
| Bag style and filled dimensions | Define the pouch style, gussets and filled shape; check the usable cavity with the product. |
| Material layer structure | Specify layers and thickness, or supply the product and filling requirements for material review. |
| Fill weight or volume | State the contents, amount and physical form; nominal volume alone may not define the filled shape. |
| Seals, zipper or fitments | Identify primary seals, consumer reclosure and fitment location with the filling process. |
| Filling and contact conditions | Describe product contact, filling, sealing and storage conditions and required evidence. |
| Quantity | Quantity per style, size and artwork design. Standard MOQ is 500 pieces; higher quantities may apply. |
| Artwork | PDF, AI or CDR artwork where available; JPG/PNG references and Excel specifications can support the brief. Files are reviewed for their intended use. |
| Delivery | Destination, target date and whether packaging should arrive assembled or flat, where applicable. |
Film layers, seals and contact requirements
The quotation confirms the selected grade and compatible options.
| Material option | Specification and confirmation |
|---|---|
| Film construction | Select the layer structure around the contents, filling and storage conditions. A pouch shape does not by itself specify a barrier level. |
| Printed outer appearance | Discuss clear, opaque or paper-look areas where compatible with the selected construction. Confirm the underlying layers separately from the visual effect. |
| Product-contact and sealing layer | Identify the filling and sealing process, including any unusual temperature or product condition. Review the material for that stated use. |
| Fitment interface | Where a valve, zipper or spout is required, review its attachment with the film and the primary seal. |
Fill space and fitment clearance
Filled pouch shape, volume and the spout/cap envelope.
- Measurement reference: Give units and label product, internal or external dimensions. Include a drawing or reference sample if available.
- Multiple sizes: List quantities by size. A size change may require a revised structure, artwork or sample.
Graphics around the spout
Keep graphics readable around the spout position and the customer's grip.
| Print preparation | Specification and confirmation |
|---|---|
| Print areas | Mark printed faces, unprinted areas, text and codes. The material and order requirements determine the printing method. |
| Colour reference | Provide CMYK artwork or a Pantone reference where available. Approve colour on the agreed material and sample; screen previews show layout. |
| Files and versions | Send PDF, AI or CDR artwork if available; JPG/PNG references and Excel specifications or data can support the brief. Files are reviewed before production. |
Film appearance and printing
Availability depends on the material, structure and intended use.
- Matte or gloss appearance: Choose the requested outer look with the complete film construction. Review a printed sample for colour and surface appearance.
- Clear or unprinted viewing areas: Mark any proposed product-viewing area on the design. Confirm whether it suits the material and protection requirements.
- Legible product information: Reserve room for variable coding, ingredients or other supplied text as needed. Check readability on the filled pouch, not only the flat artwork.
Zippers, valves, spouts and filling
Select spout position, cap and neck arrangement around viscosity and equipment. The spout-to-film seal is part of the complete pack specification.
Define spout location, cap arrangement and filling interface with the contents and equipment; confirm all fitment details before production.
- Working layout: Send a drawing, reference or actual product. Identify fixed requirements and options to compare.
- Supply and assembly: Identify the fill opening and how empty pouches should be counted, oriented and packed for the filling operation. Confirm fitment protection where applicable.
- Component matching: For a multi-part pack, list component sizes, assembly order and which parts the quotation includes.
Sample checks: spout position, cap and film seal
Trial filling, dispensing and closure with the actual contents. Evaluate leakage and handling conditions separately from appearance or nominal pouch volume.
- Structural sample: Check dimensions, assembly, fit and opening or application with the actual contents where relevant.
- Printed sample: Check print areas, colour and finish. Record any differences between the sample process and bulk production.
- Production reference: Approve the sample and artwork version before production. Recheck affected parts after changes to dimensions, materials or functional components.
Sample fees, shipping and timing are quoted per project. A visual proof cannot replace physical checks.

Custom Stand Up Pouches
The bottom gusset lets the pouch stand upright when the fill and shape are suitable. The filled product, base and seal design are considered together.
Custom Flat Pouches
Flat pouches provide a compact format without a standing base. Seal width and the opening position affect the useful packing area.
Custom Flat Bottom Pouches
The defined base and side panels form a box-like shape when filled. Multiple panels create room for product information and branding.
